October is Manufacturing Appreciation Month. Over the past 30 years, the industry has evolved and the digital transformation has made new careers and new opportunities. To help shine a spotlight on some of the new roles, we will be spotlighting different employees all month long. This week, we are featuring our Robotics Solutions Manager Logan Krueger. We asked Logan a few questions to help people better understand a little more about his day-to-day work.
Q: Can you describe your role at Sure Controls?
A: For the past (almost) 7 years I’ve focused on the implementation and support of robotic and electromechanical solutions. This includes site visits, project qualification, technical analysis/support, sizing actuators/motors, determining the best robot/end-of-arm tooling, and finding the best solution for any given application.
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: Problem solving and troubleshooting make up the lion’s share of my days and is the most rewarding. Digging through material to understand how processes and products work and finding out how to solve someone’s problem is a thrill. Being part of a smaller company; I also have the benefit of wearing many hats that are conducive to more exposure and learning.
Q: What is your biggest challenge?
A: Probably similar to what the rest of the world is experiencing. The ability to source critical components for customers. The intent is to be proactive and not reactive, but there are sourcing instances that are unpredictable that cannot be quickly resolved.
Q: Would you recommend your type of work to others? Why or Why not.
A: Undoubtedly! It is a lot like the show “How It’s Made.” The processes you see are fascinating and never ending. There is always something new to learn, and customers to share knowledge with and solve their problems. It is extremely rewarding, and I’m very fortunate to be in such an exciting industry with a great team and company.
Q: What is something people might not know about you?
A: I’ve been parasailing, bungee jumping, scuba diving, and hot air ballooning.
Big thanks to Logan for answering our questions and helping us learn more about some of the new roles available in the manufacturing industry. If you have questions about the positions available at Sure Controls, please contact us here.
